Often shown as the youngest child of William Hall Sr and Mary "Polly" Farnsworth. However, might be the child of another Hall family, or of a second wife? This is due to both the age of his Mary Fernsworth in 1828 (she would have been 52) as well as the ten year gap between he and his siblings.
He was said to have died in a Civil War camp in Kentucky from tuberculosis on 5 July 1862.
Jeanne noted that the son of Sarah and Andy Jones, Mash Jones, lived in Vinson, Oklahoma and often visited her grandmother, Zettie (Hall) Neil. Sara was buried in Independence, west of Vinson, in Harmon county.
Ken Harvey writes that he was known as Scottie Hall. He and Pearl were married standing up in a buggy much to the amusement of their children. Will would not allow the marriage until Scott had a job.

The Halls originally emigrated from Scotland to Ireland and then to the US, settling in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, later moving to Virginia near the James River. William acquired a land grant. After a few years he and his wife, Jean, bought a parcel of the Bordon Grant and other properties. All of these lands were deeded to his sons. The Halls moved to Washington County, settling on the south side of Watuga River. Their home was used as a stage coach inn, where dignitaries of the day were frequent visitors (1725). Including vistors who came straight to Virginia from Ulster, Ireland.

There was a William Hall, born around the same time, who died in El Paso in June 1986. However, this was probably NOT the husband of Brooks S. Hall. The SSDI lists him simply as William Hall, born 9 Aug 1907 and died in June 1986 (453-05-1604). The Texas Death Index, however, has him listed as Willam Wade Hall, date of death June 27, 1986, El Paso County. Due to the differing middle name, it can not be safely assumed this was the same William Hall.
Barbara Smith shows he married second Irene CARTY.

Like a bolt of lightning from a clear sky came the report early yesterday mornign of the sudden demise of Mrs. Frank Lenzner. One week ago last Tuesday Mrs. Lenzner was taken sick with the grippe but gradually became better until Monday when a complication of nervous disorders set in and she gradually grew worse until finally death broke the brittle thread of life, and the spirit took its flight to the abode where all suffering is at an end.
In Genessee, N.Y., where the deceased was born and reared, she was know as Anna Bell Hamill. Her widowed mother still resides at this place. On Dec. 31, 1891, she was united in holy wedlock with Mr. Lenzner, who now mourns the sudden departure of his companion, the mother of his two orphaned children. Besides a mourning husband, a daughter, Gladys, nine years old, a little son, Gray, nearly three years old, the deceased is survived by her mother, three brothers and one sister.
The time for the funeral is not fully settled as we go to press, but it is stated that it will be either Saturday or Sunday.

Stabbed 41 Times, S. A. Woman Dies
Tavern Owner Ice Pick Victim
A 48-year-old woman tavern operator, slain about 1 p.m. Thursday, was stabbed about 41 times ina death struggle, Dr. Robert Hausman, county medical examiner, revealed late Thursday.
The woman, Hallie Bigham, was found about 1:30 p.m. on the floor of Hallie's Place, 4234 Culebra Road.
Police Thursday night were looking for a Seguin man, reportedly a regular customer of the tavern.
Hausman said the woman was stabbed 31 times in the chest and abdomen and bout 10 times in the arms.
He said the woman, who reportedly lived in the rear of the tavern also was chocked and cut one on the chin.
Police theorized the death struggle started behind the counter where a pool of blood ran about 15 feet from the counter to the spot where the woman's body was found.
Hausman said the wound apparently was inflicted by an ice pick or some other long, slender weapon.
One of the wounds's fractured the woman's right wrist, Hausman said.
A broken bottle found on the tavern floor was believed to have inflicted the four inch cut on the woman's chin.
Audrey L. Real, a service stateion operator whos lives at 1030 John Page Dr. discoverd the woman's body at 1:30 p.m. when he went to the tavern.
Real, 47, after seeing the woman's body near the front door of the tavern, notified Mrs. Dora Britz, 4221 Culebra Road, owner of the tavern. She notified police.
Police picked up five persons but released them after questioning.
They ruled out robbery in the murder after finding $118.37 still in the cash register.
The February 11, 1960 issue of the same newspaper, also page one, had an article titled "Seguin Man Tells About Fatal Fight: Guadalupe Co. Sherrif Arrests 18-Year Old" The article stated that Juan Valdez was arrested shortly after noon on February 10 as he and several friends were on their way to a movie. Valdez stated that the struggle which ended with Hallie Bigham's death started when she demanded $5 from him. Valdez said her refused to pay, and the woman called him a "dirty Mexican." He slapped her across the face with a bottle, and she raced from the table at which they had been drinking and grabbed in ice pick.

Kurt Hanes funeral held Saturday
Funeral services for Kurt Richard Hanes, 78, of Snover, were held Saturday at the Hacker Funeral Parlors in Sandusky. Officiating were Rev. Charles Kitchenmaster and Rev. Allen Lewis of Snover. Burial was in Elkland Township Cemetery. Hanes died last Wednesday at his home near Snover after a long illness. The son of Samuel and Richard HANES, he was born in Vincennes, Ind. Surviving are his wife, the former Lena JOOS of Cass City; two sons, George of Indiana and Raymond of Sandusky; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Fay Lou) VINCENT of Indiana and Mrs. Eric (Patricia) HERRMANNS of California; six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
George W. Haney may have been in Texas at least as early as 1900. A listing that appears to be for him can be found on in Milam County. As of that census, a 22 year old George W. Haney, still single, can be found listed as a boarder in the home of Jefferson and Georgia APLIN. George's date of birth was listed as September 1877, with his place of birth shown as Texas, with his father being listed as born in Alabama and his mother as being born in Arkansas. From subsequent census records, it appears that he was actually born in Arkansas, not Texas. His occupation was listed as farmer.
Around 1907, George married Lenora Barge. At the time of the 1910 census, George and Lenora were living in a home with two other families in Limestone County, Texas. Limestone County was just northeast of Milam. One of the familes sharing their home was headed by Nora's brother, Willis BARGE. The other family was that of John and Laura POTTER. The relationship of the POTTER family to either George or Lenora, if any, is not known.
