8232 I40688  Fish  Leander  Abt 1873  31 Aug 1947  John W. Clark writes that "Leander Fish was a first cousin [first cousin, once removed] to John Henry Clark of Caddo County, Okla. Leander was the original land owner of Section 20, Township 6N, Range 8W, 160 acres, Drawn 28 Aug. 1901, Certificate no. 2318, El Reno Okla. This place was only about 2 miles east of his cousin's place, 14 miles SE of Chickasha, Okla. Leander and John Henry met in Chickasha, one day in 1901 after many years of seperation from East Texas. They visited often and helped each other with their livestock."

John W. Clark indicated, in error, that Leander was the only child of Joseph Fish and Frances Clark. They had at least eight children, and Leander was actually a grandchild, one of four children born to their eldest surviving son.

Two are Taken Suddenly by Death-
Joseph McBurney, Pioneer of Elkland Township Found Dead Tuesday Morning-
Mrs. John Krapf Taken Ill Monday in Caro and Passed Away Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. John Krapf

Mrs. John Krapf was taken seriously ill while visiting at the home of Drain Commissioner Hall in Caro Monday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon she was brought to her home in Cass City in an ambulance and passed away about 20 minutes after entering the house. Mrs. Krapf, who has been in failing health for seven years and totally blind a great portion of that time, received a severe shock during Sunday night's storm when lightening struck a tree near the Krapf residence. Monday, she felt much better and accompanied Mr. Krapf on a business trip to Caro and while at the county seat took advantage to call on Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hall, old neighbors of the Krapf family. She had been there about five minutes when she became very ill. Her death Wednesday was caused by a clot on the brain which culminated in peritonitis.

Evelyn Fisher was born at Wickware April 3, 1897. On October 15, 1885 she was united in marriage with John Krapf, and after a residence of 12 years on an Elkland township farm, they moved to Pittsfield, Mass., where they resided nine years, returning again to Cass City.

Funeral services will be held in the family residence Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. J.D. Young, pastor of the M.E. church of which Mrs. Krapf was a member, will conduct the service.

Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Miss Dora Krapf of Detroit, and Mrs. Preston Allen and Mrs. Walter Milligan, both of Cass City, her mother, Mrs. Sarah Fisher and two brothers, Joshua and Elijah Fisher, all of Wickware, and one sister, Mrs. J.A. Caldwell of Cass City.

From FindAGrave

Cyndi Rocha, loving wife, mother, grammy, aunt and friend passed away unexpectedly. She was 52 years old. Born and raised in Texas, nearly her entire adult life was spent in the Riverdale/Lemoore area of the Central Valley.

Cyndi had a diverse professional career. She worked as a paralegal, an administrative assistant, a locator at Kings County's Department of Child Support Services, and, until her death, as the Visitor Services Manager at the Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture in Hanford.

In addition to her professional life, Cyndi donated her time and energy to helping others in need. Remembered as an extraordinary listener, she often took on the individual burdens of those experiencing personal problems. Cyndi did not like injustice or to see people suffer. If someone had a problem, she would fix it. As a result, Cyndi will be remembered by so many people for the profound impact that she had on their lives.

Nearly everyone who knew Cyndi would remark that she made them laugh. Her sense of humor was infectious and always appreciated. Cyndi was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She left us so unexpectedly and she will be missed dearly.

Cyndi is survived by Stan, her loving husband of 34 years; son, Ryan, his wife Carrie; grandchildren, Amanda and Aaron; son, Shawn; daughter, Jill, her husband William Rule, granddogs Max and Mia; and her dogs, Lilly, Peenie and Cassie, whom she loved immensely.

A visitation was held on Monday, April 6, at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, April 7, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with burial following at the Lemoore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture, 15770 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230, Cyndi's beloved employer for the past six years.

8294 I21267  Foote  Nathaniel  21 Sep 1592  Bef 20 Nov 1644  Nathaniel Foote The Settler resided in Shalford Parish, county Essex and St Mary Bothaw Parish, London. at the age of sixteen was apprenticed on 21 September, 1608 to Samuel Croyle of Colchester, a "Grocer" and "Free Burgess", for a period of 8 years or until his 24th birthday in the year 1616. when he brought a message from Beatrice Barker, Esq., located on East Street, St James Parish, Colchester. He was a grocer himself as of 18 Oct 1619. (http://www.footefamily.org/nathno1a.htm)

Sometime before the year 1633 the family moved from London England to Boston, Massachusetts. He settled first, upon arrival in the New World, at Watertown, Mass.; where he took the freeman's oath 3 Sep 1633. According to the records of "The Original Distribution of Lands Around Wethersfield" recorded in 1640, a short time after arriving in Wethersfield in 1635, Nathaniel received a ten acre house lot on the east side of Broad Street. This land was near the south end of the street. This land was purchased directly from the Wongunk Indians at a place located along the Connecticut River that was called Pyguaq, later renamed Wethersfield. Additionally, he became the owner of several other tracts laying in part in the great meadow east of his house and containing close to 400 acres of land. In 1641, he was appointed a delegate to the General Court. He was a juror in 1643 and 1644.

Note: Part of his land is now a public park at the foot of Broad Street.

Nathaniel's Profession Even though Nathaniel's main profession in England was that of a Crochet, he became a farmer. He was also active in the public trusts of the town. He was appointed as a delegate to the "General Court" in the year 1644.

Nathaniel Foote was the first cousin of Sir Thomas Foote, Sheriff of London in 1649 and Lord Mayor of London in 1650. Sir Thomas Foote was the son of Robert Foote of Royston and the brother of Robert Foote of Shalford, who was Nathaniel s Father.

Records show that Nathaniel Foote died in Wethersfield, Mass in November, 1644 at the age of 51. He was buried in the burying ground in the rear of the town meeting house, where nine generations are buried. Nathaniel was survived by his wife, two sons, and five daughters.

8295 I21284  Foote  Nathaniel  5 Mar 1618  Abt 1655  Colchester - In 1864, Charles M. Taintor described the first settlers of Colchester in the Preface of the Extracts From The Records of Colchester as: "a body of men of the highest respectability, and of the first families from different parts of the country..." The group was indeed a company of distinguished families, many members the descendants of New England's first colonial leaders. These prominent men were led to Colchester in 1698 by Quarter Master Nathaniel Foote, also from an important Colonial family. Foote was a leader in the early Connecticut militia and the grandson of a founder of Wethersfield. The Foote's celebrated reputation attracted many members of New England's leading families to the new plantation "at or near the place Called Jermiah's farme upon the Rode to Newlondon."
