Obituary
From FindAGrave
Glenn David Cutting, 77, of 2025 S. 16th died Friday at a local hospital.

Mr. Cutting was born in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Abilene in 1946. He graduated from high school in McDonald, Ohio and attended Ohio State University.
He came to Abilene to go into the construction business with an uncle, Harry Rice. He was a cabinet maker with H&G Construction until 1979, when he became manager of Key City Millwork, retiring in 1986.
In 1984, he was recognized for master craftsmanship in carpentry. He was a charter member of Aldersgate Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities. He was recognized by the American Red Cross in 1974 for saving the life of a coworker.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Cutting of Abilene; two daughters, Elinore South and Janice Stevens, both of Dallas; a brother, Harry Cutting of Florida; two sisters, Betty Davis of Ohio and Ellen Fobes of Florida; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
He was said to have married Catherine PALMER. His Ohio Death certificate showed he had attended 5 + years of college, and was in the legal services industry, as an administrator and/or educator.
Not listed with her father at the time of the 1920 census, although her older sister, Ellen was listed. It does not appear that she died young, however, as she is shown as the wife of Earl WOLLITZ. At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, an Earle WOLLITZ, M W age 27, married at 27, born in the U.S. to parents also born in the U.S., was a roomer in the Murray House in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. Margaret is not listed with him.
She was born to Frederick Adelbert STRONG and Alberta OSBORNE. She was adopted by her father's sister, Alice (Strong) CUTTING, and Alice's husband Royal. She married Harley RUDERSDORF as his second wife. His first wife was her sister, Nora Belle STRONG.
At the time of the 1930 Federal census, Alberta, age 24, was living in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. She was listed as a boarder in the PARFITT home. She was shown as a trained nurse in general practice
Alice's nieces, Mable and Belle STRONG, were living with Royal and Alice at the time of the 1910 census. Glenn was shown as widowed, but neither of his young daughters were listed in the home. Perhaps they were living with their maternal grandparents?
When the 1920 Mahoning, Ohio census was taken, Royal was widowed, and living only with his daughter, Alberta CUTTING, age 13 and 11/12, and a housekeeper from Pennsylvania. Alberta was the adopted daughter of Royal and Alice, the daughter of Alice's brother, Frederick A. Strong, and named after her mother, Alberta Osborne Strong.
The following obituary is from the Historical Collections of Bristol Township, Bristolville, Ohio Thomas J. Kachur 1989, p. 127, xerox copies provided by the Trumbull County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society:
CUTTING, Royal S., d. at the home of his son, Glenn, in McDonald, Jan. 31, 1938 at 78 years. He was b. in Bristol, son of William C. and Lucy (Ober) CUTTING*, July 17, 1859. Royal m. Alice M. STRONG Aug. 20, 1884.
