Said to be the son of William BOND and Frances Wilson DOHERTY of North Carolina and Tennessee.
There appears to have also been a younger Thomas Burke Bond with a connection the the McLemore family. Tennessee Death records for William McLemore Bond, born 28 Jun 1904, in TN and died 23 Sep 1936 in Nashville, TN, show him as a son of Thomas B. Bond and Mary McLemore. As Mark Freeman shows Thomas Burke Bond having died in 1887, and since William McLemore Bond was born when Thomas Burke Bond would have been 95, it is likely another Thomas B. Bond who was his father.
This would make him the brother of Eliza Mary Bond, listed below.
Eliza Mary Bond was born to Frances Doherty and William Bond, in 1805. She attended school in Fayetteville, N.C., in 1821; otherwise, she spent most of her youth in Hillsborough. She moved to Greensboro, Ala., in 1834. Following the death of her husband, she moved with her son, George Doherty Johnston, and her aunt, Mary Burke, to Marion, Ala., where she later married Leonard Weissinger. Eliza Mary Bond Johnston Weissinger died in 1875.
Mary Williams Burke was born in 1782, in Warren County, N.C., to Mary Freeman and Thomas Burke. She taught school in Hillsborough, N.C,, starting in 1810. In 1834, she moved with her niece, Eliza Mary Bond Johnston, to Greensboro, Ala. Burke and her niece later moved to Marion, Ala., where she continued teaching and tutoring until her death in 1869. She never married.
George Mulhollan Johnston was born in 1800. Johnston was a merchant in Hillsborough with business connections throughout the state. In 1831 or 1832, he married Eliza Mary Bond. In August 1834, with his wife and her aunt, Mary Williams Burke, he moved to Greensboro, Ala., where he died in September.

His family moved to Mobile, Alabama when he was young, and he was educated in the private schools of Mobile. Richard was appointed to the Military Academy at West Point in 1847 from the state of Alabama. He graduated in June, 1852 and was assigned to the Third Infantry and became Second Lieutenant of Company "H" of that regiment, serving nearly three years with his company on the frontiers of Utah and New Mexico. On 10 January 1859 he was married, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Marie Louise Kiehl, only daughter of John Kiehl and his wife, Jane Pickering. He returned to New Mexico to his company which was later ordered to Fort Clarke, Texas. Before the Civil War, Lt. Bonneau resigned his commission in the US Army. Soon after his resignation he tendered his services to the Confederate government, and was commissioned Captain and Commissary of Subsistence and after wards promoted to Major and Chief Commissary. He was stationed in Mobile and then Selma, Alabama. When Selma, Alabama was captured by the Union army Major Bonneau managed to escape, leaving everything behind. After the close of the war Maj. Bonneau and his wife came to Philadelphia where he entered into the mercantile business with his father-in-law, John Kiehl. In his later life, Maj. Bonneau became a teacher and speaker in the Church of Christ. He died from influenza on 27 January 1899 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and his wife, died about 2 years later.
