At the time he registered for the draft for World War I, he was living at 314 Van Buren, Jackson, Michigan, and a Machinist for Morris Maching Tools in Jackson. He indicated he was married, of medium build, medium heighth, and with blue eyes and brown hair. His registration was completed on June 5, 1917. It appears that he divorced prior to the 1920 census.
According to Jay Ingalls, he was married and had five children.
He was said to have married Sarah WADSWORTH and they had two sons. They lived in Lee, FL, and was was killed in the service of the Confederate States Army.
The following biography of Edmond Blanton appears to be transcribed from "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia", and was copied from a tree at RootWeb's WorldConnect Project: Descendants of Frederick Fritz (Veit) Zeigler
"Edmond moved to Lowndes County with his parents when he was 17 years old (1832). They settled in what is now the city of Quitman. He was a blacksmith and farmer. In 1836 or 1837 he married Miss Dorcas MORGAN who was a native of Sampson County, North Carolina. Dorcas was born November of 1813. She was the granddaughter of Isaac NEWTON, R.S. They had 11 children. Dorcas died May 5,1859 in Lowndes County, Georgia. Edmond and Dorcas were members of the Primitive Baptist Church. Dorcas joined Bethlehem Church in present Brooks County July 8, 1843 by letter from Moore's Creek Church, New Hanover County, North Carolina. Edmond joined the same church September 12, 1841 and was baptized on May 7, 1847. He was ordained to the deaconship at this church. He served as a deacon until he and his wife were dismissed by letter January 1852. On January 24, 1852 Dorcas and Edmond were received by letter into Unity Church near their new home. Edmond served as a deacon for Unity until his death. Mr. Blanton lived in the portion of Lowndes County, cut into Brooks County in 1858, until 1852 when he moved to the 661st (Naylor) Distric of Lowndes County. He bought land here and had a very large plantation. He lived there until his death on 21 Aug 1878. Edmond's second wife was Elizabeth LIGHTSEY born July 27,1830 in Barnwell District, South Carolina. The grave marker reference shows her birth date as July 27, 1831. She was the daughter of Samuel LIGHTSEY and the sister of Samuel H. LIGHTSEY who married Nancy C. Blanton, Edmond's child by his first wife. They had eight children. The will of Edmond Blanton dated January 5, 1878 was probated in Oct. 1878. He bequeathed to his wife, Elizabeth, his home place consisting of parts of lots 294 and 305 11th land district of Lowndes County and all his personal estate. His other lands went to his children. His brother John Newton Blanton was executor of the will. Edmond Blanton and Elizabeth are buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Lowndes County (section 8).
Said to have married Catherine McDONALD and lived in Quitman, GA and later Madison, FL. He was a primative Baptish Preacher in Nothern Florida and the father of 5 boys and 3 girls.

There was a John Franklin Blount who married an Ernestine White, and they were the parents of Barbara JEan and Martha Anne, both born in the 1940's in Potter County, Texas. However, it is not known if this is the same John Frankling Blount who was born in East Texas and died in Dallas.
The social security death index shows that his last address of record was San Augustine, and that his account was issued in Pennsylvania. The image of his Texas Death Certificate shows he was born in Texas, and that his usual occcupation was with the Postal Service. He was not a veteran of the armed forces. It was also shown that he had lived in San Augustine his entire life.

WILD HORSE CLUB
The Wild Horse club met August 2nd with Mrs. Bud Gentry. Miss Louise Frazier was leader of the afternoon's lesson on parliamentary rules of the club. Miss Frazier, with several other members assisting, discussed the by-laws of our club. We voted to carry out some of the rules to a finer point in our future meetings. Another important feature of the afternoon was the planning of our County Fair budget.
Mrs. Gentry served ice cream and cake to thirteen members and visitors. The club will meet with Mrs. Frank Graham August 16th. Mrs. Bud Phillips will have charge of the meeting. --Reporter
In an email to Melinda Strong on 30 January 2002, Lynell Cordell wrote:
My mother's name wasn't pronounced Eve-a, but I can't spell the way it was pronounced. Her siblings called her Evie, but that's not pronounced Eve-ie either.
Tom Blue died in 1910, just before my mother's third birthday. There were 8 children in the family and most were sick, including Tom, but he went out on a rainy day to get some medicine and developed pneumonia and died. My mother said she remembered seeing him in the bed next to hers and I think what she remembered could have been when he died. Her mother would have cried and carried on so a 3 year old would probably remember something like that.
My grandmother's life (Martha Baker) would make a good book but it sure wouldn't be very romantic. When Grandma was 15 years old her parents died within two months of each other. She had a 12 year old brother and a 3 year old sister and they were split up among relatives. We don't know which relatives. Grandma said the people who took her in only wanted help with the farm and worked her entirely too hard. Then, when she was 17 she married Tom Blue and they applied for guardianship of her brother and baby sister. But, by then the couple who took the baby apparently didn't want to give her up so they told my grandmother that the baby died. We now know that the baby had a better life than she would have had with my grandmother.
Grandma married again and had her 9th child and divorced and worked her fingers to the bone raising all those kids by herself and when she was old, living with her daughter in Dallas, her baby sister came knocking on her door. Can you imagine the shock?
And now I've met the baby sister's granddaughter! She's just a few years older than I am and lives in Fort Worth and we talk all the time.

Jane Zimmerman emailed that "Arthur was working on the Great Lakes boats when the 1930 census was taken, Merchant Marine type of work I guess you'd call it. At the same time the farm Adolph Grimm was running needed farm help because most of his children had left home. As a result, Mary moved back home while Arthur worked the boats. Her sons, Ralph, Everett, Leonard, and Donald were able to do the farm work. The farm was a very nice one, with a large farmhouse making it easy enough to accomodate the extra family. The girls, helped out around the house & garden. It was a very profitable partnership for both sides. The farm is still in the Grimm family, although not run as a family farm. I believe the land is rented out. The buildings are well kept up and very neat. This farm is in the Town of Two Creeks."
Jane also indicated that Arthur became ill while working on a ship that docked in Chicago. His niece, Irene Bosanko helped him check into the Marine Hospital where he was operated on for a poisonous goiter, and he died after after the surgery. After his death, his remains were returned to Mishicot for burial.

Jane Zimmerman writes that a "no name" male baby was born the same day as Edward, recorded by Harriet M. Kundson, mid-wife. Edward was registered by Reve. M. Wells, Francis Creek on Jan. 26, 1891. It is most likely that there was only one birth, but that it was recorded slightly differently by the different individuals. To the knowledge of Ruth Hughes, a family member, Edward did not have a twin.
Description: EMMA BODWIN cemetery #63 From Der Nord Westen, 28 Dec. 1905: Death on 15 Dec. in her home near Kingsbridge, of 22-yr. old Emma, daughter of John Bodwin, from a heart attack. She had many friends here who join her parents and sisters in mourning her early death. Many people attended the funeral Mon. from the Catholic Church with burial in the local cemetery.
The 1900 census showed John Bodwin as a farmer and that he came to this country from Belgium in 1857 at the age of 6. Peter Bodwin, father of John, resided with his son at the time of his death and was age 86. Jane Zimmerman writes that after John's barn, near Mishicot, burned down, he worked as a night watchman at the Shipyards. He lost several fingers during his employment, for which he was never compensated.
