Contradictory birth dates on the Social Security Applications and Claims Index (22 Mar 1922) vs Social Security Death Index (18 Apr 1923), although both have an identical date of death (27 July 1999). The Social Security Application and Claims index shows his parents as Bernanrd A. Igoe and Mary McGee. The later date appears correct, as the Ancestry.com. New York, New York, Birth Index, 1910-1965 [database on-line]. When he registered for the draft during the First World War, he was a single resident of Sabinetown, and worked as a Machinist at Kirby Lumber Company in Browndell. He was described as slender, of medium heighth and with gray eyes and brown hair.

Rev William P. McLemore wrote that "Mike dated my sister, Ann Schindler McLemore, when we were attending Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia, in the early 1950's. Both of our fathers were stationed at Fort Monroe at the time. They were married shortly after he graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1959." After Ann's death in 1991, he married second Karen Biddle, at St. John's Episcopal in Roseville, California, on 28 August 2004. He died at home in Linoln, California, after an extended illness. Michael was a Lt. Col in the US Army.
Jake Schopf writes that Margaret relatives had lived across from the Susquehanna River from Lewisburg for generations.
Both he and J.M. Ingalls indicate that Margaret is the daughter of Joseph K. IRWIN and Jane LEWIS. However, her death certificate, perhaps in error, lists her father as 'W. Irwin.' At the time of the 1870 census, Margaret appears to have been recently married to Jacob Schopf, and she in Jacob are living in the home of Joseph Irwin.

ISAACKS, ELIJAH (1775-1859). Elijah Issacks, early East Texas settler
and delegate to the Convention of 1832, the son of Samuel and Mary
(Wallace) Isaacks, was born in South Carolina on February 22, 1775. He
married Esther (or Hester) Donaho in 1797. By 1809 he was living in Pike
County, Mississippi. After serving in the Mississippi Territorial
Militia during the War of 1812 he moved to Texas. Family tradition holds
that Isaacks arrived in Texas on January 10, 1822, although the illegal
nature of such an early migration led him to subsequently to declare the
date as 1830 before Mexican authorities. In any event he was one of the
earliest white settlers in Bevil's Settlement and later secured a tract
along Walnut Run. Isaacks served as a delegate from the Snow River
district in Tyler County to the Convention of 1832. At this convention,
in San Felipe de Austin, he served on two committees, one to study the
future of settlement east of the San Jancinto, and one to consider a
petition for establishing a state government separate from Coahuila (see
COAHUILA AND TEXAS). He was the father of ten children, a farmer, and a
blacksmith; he owned two slaves by 1850. His son Samuel Isaacks probably
arrived in Texas before him. He lived on land that is now part of Tyler
and Jasper counties before moving to Jasper, where he owned four town
lots. He died there after a fall on November 1, 1859.

James Morgan, the son of Daniel and Mary Morgan (Sampson County, NC>Decatur County, GA>Jasper County, TX), was listed in his household in Jasper, Texas at the time of the 1850 census.
Elijah is said by John W. Clark to be a son of Samuel ISAACS and Mary WALLACE. However, Steve Moody, a descendant of Elijah ISAACS, wrote me that "Elijah Isaacks' mother was Mary Morgan, daughter of Joseph Morgan Jr. I've never been able to figure out how James was related, I thought maybe he was a cousin."
The following information, about Elijah's parents, was copied from a website titled "The Bush Family - My Ancestors" Clinton W. Bush, "Descendants of Isaacs" This has not been verfied against original records and should be used as a starting point for further research.
SAMUEL ISAACS was born bet. 1754-1759 in Fredrick County Virginia., and died 1844 in Lincoln County Tenn. He married MARY WALLACE 1774 in South Carolina. She was the daughter of Elijah Isaacs and H. Esther Donoho. Could her age of 36 on the 1835 Sabine County census be in error? She would have been 13 at the time of her marriage, and 14 when Elijah was born.
Mahulda Isaacks was born to Elijah and Esther Donaho Isaacks on June 23, 1809 in Pike County, Mississippi. Her father was a Private in the Nixon's 13th Regiment in the War of 1812 with the British. Mahulda's grandfather Samuel Issacks, was a Corporal under Captain Thomas Blackston in the 7th Regiment, Infantry. Samuel also served in the American Revolutionary War, in North and South Carolina, under General Francis Marion at the Battle of Cowpens. Mahulda married William Isaac Jordan on January 4, 1827 in Jasper County, Texas. Their first child, Elvira Jordan, was born on January 8, 1828. She is my great-great-great Grandmother. There were twelve children born to this union and including Elvira their names are as follows: William Haywood, Lewis, Martin Wilkerson "Pete", Margaret Ann "Peggy", Elizabeth Esther, Andrew Colistus "Cuff", Thomas Alfred, Cynthia Sophia, James Martin, Elijah "Eli" and Mary Mahulda Jordan.

Said to married, in 1821, Matthew Parker. Matthew was the oldest son of Jesse Parker, who also came to Texas from Louisiana in 1822 and settled in Joseph Vehlein's colony. Jesse represented the Sabine District as one of 56 elected delegates to the Convention of 1832, which convened at San Felipe de Austin on October 1. Matthew Parker received a grant of league and labor of land, and several additional grants, one being for his service in Captain E. A. Collins' company of Sabine Volunteers. His name appears on a roll fo this company, dated July 8, 1836. The additional grants were in Shelby, Harrison, and Cherokee counties. After Mary Isaacs Parker died in 1845, Matthew Parker married second Elizabeth Lowe, daugther of Isaac Lowe of Sabine County. (John W. Clark, pp. 38-41).

Bio written and posted by Ronald Barlow, on his Farm Road 1 - From one end to the other facebook group:
There'll never be another George Jacks.
George was one of the smartest and most reliable men I've ever worked with.
It didn't take me long to figure out that if I had a mechanical problem that I couldn't solve, whether it be on a car or truck, or a tractor, or a hay baler, just ask George to look at it.
George was not much of a team player.
He flew solo most of the time.
His mind was too focused and worked too fast to be patient enough to tolerate the foolishness of us who lacked the ability to focus only on the task at hand to see it through to completion with no distractions.
I believe that if George had survived long enough to have been under a car hood at the time of the Rapture, that he would have asked Jesus for a few more minutes to finish torqueing some bolts.
Me and George worked well together.
If something mechanical or electronic didn't do what it was designed to do, I'd tell George what I had seen or heard or felt or smelt right before something quit working, and then take maybe a few more seconds to tell him what I had ruled out as the culprit.
...and then I backed out of the way and waited on this genius to ask me for assistance...which wasn't very often.
George didn't like anybody hovering over his shoulder.
Nor, did he like taking directions from people that liked barking orders.
Tell him what you knew about the problem, then back off and let him at it.
A couple of years ago, my old Dodge pickup wouldn't crank in the high school parking lot at Pineland. It was late at night, and as usual, I was the last one leaving, because I had stood around talking too long after the meeting was over.
My battery was strong and the engine turned over just fine, and after a quick check under the hood, I ascertained that the spark plugs were firing.
There was a quarter-tank of gas in the tank...and I hadn't noticed anything unusual pulling in earlier that evening.
I called George.
Other than the time it took him to get out of his recliner, put on his overalls and his shoes, and drive the two or three miles to Pineland, he had me headed home within two or three minutes after his arrival...with a hammer tap to the bottom of the fuel pump, which was inside the gas tank, underneath the pickup bed.
A call to almost anybody other than George would have eventually involved a chain or a tow truck, lifting the bed off the truck frame, replacing the fuel pump, many hours of labor, a big bill, and me being afoot for at least a full day.
I gave George a $20 bill and we were both back in our recliners within ten or fifteen minutes.
George was hard-headed. He wouldn't waste time doing something useless just because someone else thought they knew more than him.
George didn't waste words.
When he spoke, I listened.
I knew that he wasn't going to say it twice, and it was well thought out before he said it.
It didn't matter what we were working on, George was the master and I was the assistant.
I might be the boss of the fifty other people working around us, but I was just the apprentice handing tools, or turning keys, or pushing clutches or running for parts for George.
It worked much better that way.
I know other folks that couldn't work with George.
Some called him "contrary" or "ornery."
Most never learned to leave the chit-chat or b.s. aside until the work was done.
Others besides me that knew the value of having a "George" around, included Frank Shaver, Welden Elliott and Don Tate. George helped us get to where we got.
I called him often.
?and always got the right answer.
I'll be lost for a time without George.
I know plenty of good mechanics, but none like George.
I miss you already, George. I hope the Good Lord's got a set of tools waiting for you.
