This is thought to be a photo of Mary Striffler (left), with her foster sister, Augusta Krehl. Mary and Augusta were married to brothers, Samuel and John Benkelman. The woman in the center of the photo is not known. It could possibly be their sister, Fannie Stiffler Maier, but based on comparisons to other photos, this is unlikely. Mary was identified through comparison to other known photos. Augusta was positively identified by her son, Alvin C. Benkelman Sr.
