Patty, Walter and Agnes ca 1949 During the Depression, the Salvation Army sent Agnes Strong to be interviewed for a job by Walter Patty. He was a widower, with several small children, who ran a boarding house in Chickasha. OK. He apparently had trouble keeping housekeepers. The Salvation Army captain thought Agnes was well quailified for the task despite her youth. She was hired, and she and her daughter Patty moved into an apartment at the boarding house. Over a period of time, Walter and Agnes developed an affinity for each other and were married. This photo was taken around 1949, after they had been married almost 20 years.
