- The daughter of L. Isaac Nations and Martha Lavica Brister. (White and Toole, p 77). Virgie Speights wrote that Rev. Nations was a Baptist Minister from Magnolia, Arkansas and civil war Veteran. He was the longtime pastor of Attoyac Church, Sarah's brother was Edward E. Nations, who served as deputy sherrif, sherriff, Justice of the Peace and commissioner of many East Texas counties, including Sana Augustine, Nacogdoches, Sabine, and Jasper Counties (Speights, Old Timers of Sabine County, p. 77).
