Obituary from her FindAGrave Memorial page, created by Carole McCaig: RUTH JOAN CROCKER, 86, of Memphis, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. She was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Crocker graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing, and enlisted as a nurse in the Army Air Force. She was assigned to the base hospital on Randolph Field, located in San Antonio, TX during WWII, where she was a nurse 1st. Lt. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George H. Crocker. Mrs. Crocker is also survived by her daughter, Gwynn and her husband John Kemmerzehl; one nephew, Michael and his wife, Susan Grogan; one niece, Gail and her husband Chris Poindexter. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
