    • Dovie Renfroe, 93, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Saturday, May, 9, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family.

      She was born September 19, 1926 in San Augustine to the late Nay and Ethel Mathews Smith. She married Dick Renfroe and shared many wonderful years with him until his passing. Dovie owned and operated Art Flowers and Gift Shop for many years until her retirement. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all that had the great honor of knowing her.

      Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Wanda Eckols of Georgetown, Texas; four grandchildren, Cyndye Hilliard and her husband Kenny of Nacogdoches, Texas, Cristy Prude and her husband Price of Magnolia, Texas, Ashley Adams of Houston, Texas, and Blake Eckols of Roanoak, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Conner Sebesta, Randi Fletcher, Liam Hilliard, Addison Prude, Hudson Prude, Roman Blake Eckols, and Brooklynn Eckols; two sisters, Mildred Scarborough of Lumberton, Texas, and Loretta Richards of San Augustine, Texas.

      Dovie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Renfroe; her son, Lynn Renfroe; brothers, Herman Smith, Walter Smith, Nay Smith, and Charles Ray "Buddy" Smith; and two sisters, Verna Taylor and Lizzie Mae Braniff.

      Services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home,

      Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2020 at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
