    • In the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, Volume 9, September 2, 1946, in a column titled "School Days", it was noted that George J. Stinar was graduated from Lew Wallace H.S., Gary, Indiana, and set to join the Navy in the Fall. The Striffler-Benkelman Broadcast, Volume 10, September 1, 1947, further noted that PFC Stinar graduated from one of the training command's airplane mechanic training courses at Kessler Field. As of Volume 11, it was written that he had left Selfridge Field and successfully competed for the assignment to the flight of 16 F-80 "Shooting Star" jet planes making the first US Air Force transatlantic hop. He went to Maine, Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, England and Germay on this three month good-will tour.

      George J. Stinar, age 81, a 36 - year resident of Berwyn, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Rainbow Hospice Ark in Park Ridge. George was a retired machinist at Commonwealth Edison in Chicago. He was a member of Third Order Franciscans, American Legion ? Edison Post #118 and was very active at Saint Odilo Church. Beloved husband of Rose nee Del Guidice. Loving father of MaryRose Larsen and George (Odette). Dear grandfather of George and Vincent (Angel) Stinar and Kristine Larsen and Lisa Sams. Great grandfather of 3. Loving son of the late George and Louise Stinar. Fond brother of Waldo (Mary), Clare (Joan), Lydia (Edward) Fritz and Margaret Brooks. Funeral Wednesday 9:00 a.m. from Linhart Funeral Home, 6820 W. Cermak Rd., Berwyn to St. Odilo Church Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. Visitation Tuesday 2-9 p.m.

    • The STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST, Volume 15, September 1, 1952, reported that Rose Mary Guidrie and Geo. J. Stinar, Jr., were married on Oct. 6, in Chicago. Art Peck instead shows George's wife as Rosemary Del Guidice, and that the date of marriage was Oct. 3.

According to a article published by the Cass City Chronicle on August 6, 1981, commemorating the Fiftieth and Final Striffler-Benkelman Reunion, the final issue of the STRIFFLER-BENKELMAN BROADCAST appears to have been Volume 28, published in 1968.), Volume 15, September 1, 1952.
