Jones, John Jones, Jr (sic) fought in the Creek War of 1836 in Georgia. " In another letter, she wrote that Matthew was the father of Matthew, Silas, Sion, and Robert, and that he had owned 1000 acres in lower Georgia. Listed in the "1840 Decatur County Georgia Census Index " (Frances T. Ingmire, Mountain Press).
