  Notes	In "Washington Parish (Louisiana) Records 1810-1898" H. T. Burkhalter is listed as having 8 slaves in 1850 and 12 in 1860. He is shown in the same book on an 1855 July List for the Eighth Judicial Court. Further, it was indicated that he had one male child between the ages of 6 and 16 going to school as of the date of the 1863 School Census.
