- Ken Harvery writes that "Confusingly three grand children are mentioned in the obit. This appears to be an error as his will does not mention any, nor does the obituary of his wife."
He was on the Consolidated listed of all persons subject to Military Duty int he Eighth Congressional District in the State of Missouri, 1863-1865. His residence was listed as LaGrange, Missouri, and he was listed as Clarkson, Julius R. L. 33 White Physician Single Ky, "Struck from list by order of the Board instrument August 12, 1864 because from residence known to be involved in the 15 subdistrict of fourth district of Illinois."
