Two are Taken Suddenly by Death-
Joseph McBurney, Pioneer of Elkland Township Found Dead Tuesday Morning-
Mrs. John Krapf Taken Ill Monday in Caro and Passed Away Wednesday Afternoon
Mrs. John Krapf
Mrs. John Krapf was taken seriously ill while visiting at the home of Drain Commissioner Hall in Caro Monday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon she was brought to her home in Cass City in an ambulance and passed away about 20 minutes after entering the house. Mrs. Krapf, who has been in failing health for seven years and totally blind a great portion of that time, received a severe shock during Sunday night's storm when lightening struck a tree near the Krapf residence. Monday, she felt much better and accompanied Mr. Krapf on a business trip to Caro and while at the county seat took advantage to call on Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hall, old neighbors of the Krapf family. She had been there about five minutes when she became very ill. Her death Wednesday was caused by a clot on the brain which culminated in peritonitis.
Evelyn Fisher was born at Wickware April 3, 1897. On October 15, 1885 she was united in marriage with John Krapf, and after a residence of 12 years on an Elkland township farm, they moved to Pittsfield, Mass., where they resided nine years, returning again to Cass City.
Funeral services will be held in the family residence Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. J.D. Young, pastor of the M.E. church of which Mrs. Krapf was a member, will conduct the service.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Miss Dora Krapf of Detroit, and Mrs. Preston Allen and Mrs. Walter Milligan, both of Cass City, her mother, Mrs. Sarah Fisher and two brothers, Joshua and Elijah Fisher, all of Wickware, and one sister, Mrs. J.A. Caldwell of Cass City.
