- Ken Harvey indicates she died of the same thing that killed her mother. He might be mistaken, however, as her mother lived until the age ot 89. It was John's first wife that died young. It appears she was married and may have been the mother of the infant Mark Sale Chessman. She died a mere 10 days after he did, possibily from complications of childbirth.

- Did John and Julia divorce? The summary of the Texas Death Record for John Gentry shows him as single, even though Julia survived him.
Ken Harvey and Lynell Cordell both believe they might also have had a son named John. He was not on the 1920 census, however.
