  Notes	William Mead McWethy was born in Dark County, Ohio, near Dallas, after his father returned from the Civil War. Following his mothers death the three younger children and their father lived among the three elder children's homes. William remembered living with his older sister "Aunt Mag," in Joplin, Missouri. He attended school here but never completed the third grade.
