Notes |
- The rich and happy life of Beatrice Mae Condit of Arco, Idaho, came to an end on Saturday, July 16, 2016, after 87 years.
She was born in Belding, Mich., the middle child of Eva Mae Corbett and Sigmund William Spencer. She married the love of her life, Clayton Max Condit, in 1951. After living in England for his tour of duty with the Air Force, they returned to Idaho and had two daughters, Celeste and Deirdre.
Inspired by her work at Fort Hall Reservation, Beatrice then completed her bachelor's degree in anthropology at Idaho State University. She enjoyed teaching linguistics until she and Clay moved to Arco to manage the airport around 1980. After they moved into town, she helped many students and young people with school and life. They shared their love and home with Janice Carlson, Jerry Burgoyne, Ryan Becker, Ben Jensen and his brother, Josh.
Bea enjoyed politics, bridge, crossword puzzles and talking with people. She adored her granddaughters, Corbette and Moira, and loved and admired her sister, Margaret, and her younger brother, Bill.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Anderson Funeral Home in Arco. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Arco "Pretty City" Committee.
