She was born in Dunklin County, Missouri and lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Brooks was a microfilm processor for Photo File Systems, retiring in 1983. She worked for the North American Aviation in World War II. She was a former member of the Quindaro Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Charles Brooks, Kansas City, Kansas; a daughter, Larry Jean Flint, Barling, Ark.; a brother Ivan Lester, Kansas City, Kansas; three sisters, Roberta Shows and Christine Dunnaway of Pasadena, Texas, and Eathel Hall, Tacoma, Washington; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Highland Park Chapel. (Saturday, April 4, 1992 THE KANSAS CITY STAR).
