  Notes	Obituary Betty Sue Stabbs, 73, born on October 20, 1951, in Florida to James D. Chance and Nelda Kelley Chance, passed away on December 15, 2024, at Community Retirement Home in Port Arthur, Texas. Betty dedicated over two decades of her life as a security guard for Big Hill Oil Reserves and also worked as a prison guard for many years. Known for her vibrant personality and joyful spirit, she brought happiness to those around her. Betty had a deep love for music, with "Amazing Grace" holding a special place in her heart. She enjoyed singing and dancing, sharing her passion with those who knew her. Betty was a member of Gravel Hill Church. She is survived by her sons, David Christopher Wagstaff and his wife Amber of Orange, Texas, and Michael Wagstaff of San Augustine, Texas; her sisters, Mary Chance Perimon of the Gravel Hill Community and Peggy Diane Brown of Converse, Louisiana; and her cherished grandchildren: Ashlyn Wagstaff, Hailey Vickers, Jed Wagstaff, Riley Wagstaff, Bailey Wagstaff, and David Wagstaff Jr. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike Stabbs; and her sisters Gladys Randolph, Jenny Conn, and Nellie V. Chance. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Gravel Hill Church in Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Don Snider officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will follow services in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas.
