The Find A Grave page contains a photo of his Military Marker, showing he served as a Private in the US Army during World War II. His parents on Find A Grave are shown as John L and Edna L Sandifer, and his spouse listed as Eunice L Sandifer (27 April 1902 -5 October 1988-died in Oneonta, Blount, Alabama). It appears he was born three days before his mother, Edna Gerald Sandifer died, presumably of complications of childbirth.
At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, he was living in Franklin County, Mississippi, Beat 3, in the home of John L Sandifer and his second wife, Vernie, along with his two younger half sisters, Bernice and Irene.
