- Services for Lonnie Wilbur Wilson, 93, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton with the Rev. Sam Callaway officiating.
Burial with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
He died Sunday, Feb. 25, at his home.
He was born in Manor to John Thomas and Sallie Maud (Burrows) Wilson. He was reared and educated in Manor where he graduated from high school. He married Sarah M. Cole on May 24, 1942, in Austin. They resided in Austin, on Lake Belton for 30 years and in Temple. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Oct. 22, 1942 through March 4, 1946. Military awards and honors include the American Theater Service Medal; Victory Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
A grandchild preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife of Temple; a son, Lonnie Wilson of Pflugerville; a daughter, Sylvia J. Bremkamp of Houston; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church, 7717 N. Highway 317, Belton, 76513.
Sheffield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
