- George Thomas Crowell, 85, of Hemphill, Texas died Friday, January 27, 2017 at CHI Christus Hospital in Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Crowell resided in Hemphill, Texas for 42 years and was a member of Macedonia Yellowpine Baptist Church. He was born December 19, 1931 in Sabinetown to Albert and Lula B. Lord Crowell. He retired as a pumper for Star-Texaco Enterprise after 42 years. Mr. Crowell was also a U. S. Army Veteran serving in Korea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ocie B. "Tinnie" Crowell, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by daughters: Cynthia Lavern Kaseska of St. Augustine, Florida, Mary Christine Pelatan of Port Arthur, Texas, Martha Jane Bouse of St. Augustine, Florida and Carol Beth Seaton of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 ? 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Starr Funeral Home Chapel.
