Services for Marguerite McCarty Lawrence,87, of Houston, formerly of Lufkin, were held January 21, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lawrence was born January 16, 1920, in Angelina Co., Texas. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, January 18, 2007.
Mrs. Lawrence was a beautician, but her most important mission in life was to be a loving wife and mother, and faithful witness to her family and friends. She was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Samuel Lawrence, Jr.; daughter, Arlie S. Smelley; son Dixon Carter Lawrence; grandson, Phillip Michael Lawrence; and granddaughter, Kimberly Shannon Self.
