  Notes	The Biography, below, was copied from his FindAGrave memorial page created by Jim Bohn: He was born in Martin County, the son of James and Mary (Young) Black. He was a retired painter. He was a member and trustee of the Loogootee Christian Church and a director of the Goodwill Cemetery Association as well as being active in many community affairs. On September 17, 1933 he married Avis McLemore. On December 15, 1977 he died at 1:10 p.m. after collapsing suddenly at the home of a neighbor. One sister still lived, Mrs. Una Born, Naperville, IL. A daughter, Lynn, died in 1973 and two brothers and one sister had previously died.
