James Orbie Thompson, 92, died at 5 p.m. Feb. 13, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Lexington, Ala., to Mac and Ollie McGuire Thompson, who preceded him in death. On May 5, 1943, he married Evelyn Berdene Heidlebaugh, who survives.
Mr. Thompson was owner of Thompson Trucking and had worked at Toledo Pipe, DOT Lines and as a welder at Ex-Cell-O. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques.
Survivors also include a son, James L. (Noi) Thompson, of Thailand; two daughters, Barbara (Carl) Kidd, of Columbus, and Beth Ann (Ted) Kray, of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two brothers, William (Nellarene) Thompson and Arthur Lee (Stella) Thompson, both of Lexington, Ala.; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Bergin.
Services will begin at noon Thursday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Mark Walls and the Rev. Carl Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Ottawa River Cemetery, Rimer, with military rites.
