- Mildred Inez Hooks, 85, of Hemhill, passed away Wednesday afternoon in the Lufkin Memorial Hospital, Lufkin, Texas. Mildred was born in Fairdale, Texas, to Miles W. and Ola Chance McDaniel. She was formerly a resident of Crockett, Texas, where she belonged to the First United Methodist Church and worked as an office clerk in the human resources insurance department.
Mrs. Hooks is survived by her husband Farrel S. Hooks of Hemphill, her sister Beatrice Weaver of Hemphill, numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, October 10, 2014, in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Six Mile Community, Hemphill, Texas.
