- Marriage date per the US Confederate Pension application by Mrs. T. R. McClelland based on the service of her husband, Samuel D. McClelland. The year of marriage may wrong based on their years of birth (they each would have only been around 15 years of age). However, she was married before 1850, as she and S D McClellan can be found in Hinds County, Mississippi with a once month old daughter. Also living in their home was the widowed Elizabeth ROBBINS, age 46, and her children Jesse and Jeptha, ages 6 and 4. When Thirsey applied for the pension, on 12 Oct 1899, she was widowed and a resident of Sabine County, PO Vista, Texas. Her request was approved. The File number was 03556. At the time she applied for this pension, she stated that her home was worth $15, and she also owned one cow and calf and two yearlings, worth another $30. Witness was H. B. Robbins.
