She was the second child and daughter of seven children born to them. Neither Loue nor her older sister were to live to adulthood. Her parents moved back to Dallas County, Missouri, where Loue died 2 weeks before her fourth birthday on February 9, 1883. She is buried next to her grandfather, Enoch Cox McClanahan, in Montgomery Cemetery. Her stone is no longer legible.
