Adell was born to the late Rita Faustine (Ashby) Ferguson and James Calvin Ferguson on April 18, 1921, in Oklahoma, and passed from this life Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Hemphill. She was an inspirational, loving, always smiling, caring, and praying lady. In her almost 98 years of life, she had to endure such heartache and tragedies that no one should have to, but with the grace of God, her love for him, God sustained her through it all. She dearly loved her family so very much. Each child, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren knew she loved them, and that love was extended to her daughter-in-loves and sons-in-law. To her beloved siblings, the unique closeness of love she had to her sisters, and brothers clearly showed. When the Ferguson family reunion came around every year, they would and still gather and sing, playing the guitars, keyboards, etc.. and she dearly looked forward to it every year. "There was a lot of love in this dear lady," and it showed. and now she is seeing Jesus and his hands, the hands who held her through it all. She was a faithful and longtime member of the Rosevine United Pentecostal Church in Rosevine, a church that was dear to her heart.
Those to whom will cherish her memory include, her beloved son, James Rhodes and his wife, Jackie of Vidor; her loving daughter, Linda Kay Loggins and her husband, Leon of Rosevine (Rebecca Community); her beloved sons, Dennis Wayne Burch of Rosevine and Gilbert Dale Burch and his wife, Beverly of Pineland and her loving daughter, Beverly Sue Barlow of Rosevine; her kind and loving sisters, Margaret Oliver of San Augustine; Geraldine Goynes of Rosevine; Edna Cook of Silsbee; Myrtle Boyd of San Antonio and beloved brother, Bruce Ferguson of Rosevine, her loving daughters-in-law, Linda Nell Rhodes of San Augustine; Pat Rhodes of Etoile and Glenda Richard of Rockport, along with her beloved 27 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends, and her beloved church family.
