- Betty Sue Speight, 77, died Friday afternoon, May 3, 2013, in the Hemphill Care Center in Hemphill Texas. She was born to Charles C. Corley and Willie Mae Burk Corley on Dec 18, 1935, in San Augustine Texas. She lived her life in the Sabine County and San Augustine County areas, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hemphill, and a caretaker in the Home Health industry.
She was survived by her son Kendall Speight and wife Melissa of Corpus Christi; her daughter Joan Keeling, of Hemphill; her three brothers, Lee Corley and wife Leta of Hemphill, Robert Corley and wife Mary of Tyler, Larry Corley and wife Rachel of Tyler, and Arthur Corley and wife Ruth of Bryan; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband K. I. Speight, and son Johnny Speight.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Sunday evening, May 5, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Hemphill Cemetery.
