- Researcher Ralph Burns of Mississippi posted a note to her record on 1880 San Augustine County, Texas census, indicated her maiden name was BURNS. This matches the Texas Death certificate information for her children James, Pinkie, Lou, Della, and Eula.
In 1910, and again in 1930, she was enumerated with her daughter Della, and son-in-law, Emmett Cordray.
The following was inscribed on her tombstone: "Remember youth as you pass by, As you are now so once was I, As I am now so you will be, Prepare for death and follow me."
