Melba was born in Silsbee, Texas on December 15, 1944 to Lee Edward Craig and Vada Byerly Craig. She had worked as a school bus driver for Aldine ISD for over 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Holmes and husband, Craig, of Hampton, Virginia and Glenda Lane of Brookeland, Texas; brother, Charles Craig and wife, Linda, of Brookeland, Texas; sisters, Sue Horton and husband, Kenneth, of Woodville, Texas and Barbara Strickland of Brookland; grandchildren, Lori Leger, Robert Lane, and Ashley Lane; three great grandchildren, Austin, Dallas, and Kaylyn; family and friends; and special friends, Sandy, Bennie, Valerie, Elsie, James, and her other school bus driving friends from Aldine ISD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Broussard; her parents, Lee Edward and Vada Craig; and her son, Michael Craig; Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Pine Hill Cemetery on FM2024 in Hemphill, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. George Jeffcoat officiating.
