- Dale Rubel shows him as a son of George W. Bostick and his wife, Clarinda, both born in South Carolina.
In her book, "Old Timers of Sabine County, Texas," Virgie Speights stated that "In the 1850's the Andersons, along with their relatives, the Coopers, the Brents, Deans and Bosticks, set out for Texas." (p. 65) She also indicated that Hamp was of Irish Heritage.
