- In her annotated transcription of the Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Sabine County, Kay Parker McCary shows that her tombstone was inscribed "And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my savior-The Lord is my shepherd." McCary also notes that Laura was a daughter of Wiley William Crew and Mary Elizabeth Pickard, and that although the tombstone is engraved with 21 Jan 1910 as the date of death, her burial record shows 17 Jan 1910.
