Obituary
Laverne Hanks, 72 of Warren, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Harbor House in Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 11 a.m. until service time at 1:00pm at Village Mills United Methodist Church in Wildwood with burial in Village Mills Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Reverend Randy Carrion.
Laverne was born April 19, 1941 to Robert & Maudie Clark Zeagler in Sabine County, Texas. She was a former resident of Orange and lived in Wildwood/Warren area since 1986. Laverne graduated from Pineland High School where she excelled in Basketball, Softball, Volleyball and sports in general. Making all state both her junior and senior years. Laverne was an avid golfer, hunter and gardener. The only thing that exceeded her love for the outdoors was the love of family.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerry Hanks of Warren; sons, Charles Kenneth Hulett, Jr. & wife Lisa of Warren, Roger Wayne Hulett & wife Tina of Port Arthur, Terry Paul Hulett & wife Diane of League City, Ricky Hanks of Brookeland, and Bobby Hanks & wife Roxanne of Vidor; daughter, Lisa Lynn Sanders & husband Mike of Vidor; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center or Shriners Children's Hospital.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
