He was shown on the 1800 Oglethorpe County, Georgia census. Jobe was in the 5th VA Regiment of Foot, from 1 Mar 1776 until September 1782.
As compiled by Vivian Cogbill of Jasper, Texas:
Francis and Sarah Wigley lived in Amite County, Mississippi and all of but one of their children were born there. They were members of the East Fork Baptist Church of Christfrom 1834 through 1852. They must have left Amite County before the birth of their youngest son. They lived in Jasper County, Texas until 1887, when they moved to Tyler County, Texas were the lived in the Ebenezar Community with their son Paschal. They are buried in the Wigley cemeter off Farm Road 256.
Per the obituary in the JASPER NEWS BOY for Francis Wigley:
29 Mar 1899---Died near Emilee, Tyler County, Texas on March 16, 1899, Mr. Francis Wigley, aged 88 years, 9 months and 4 days. Deceased was born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, June 10, 1810, moved with his parents to Amite County, Mississippi in 1820 and was married to Ms. Sarah Felder on May 24, 1832 and in the fall of 1852 came to Texas and settled in the Big Creek area. He was the father of twelve children, eight of whom are still living. He united with the Missionary Baptist Church while quite young and lived an exemplary Christian life, 30 years of which time her served the church at Zion Hill as a deacon. He cast his first presidential vote for General Jackson, and voted for every democratic candidate down to Cleveland in 1884, as which time he cast his last vote. Incrediable as it may seem, the subject of this sketch lived under the administration of 20 presidents, and was nearly grown when the first railroad was built in the United States. he was a remarkable temperate man in everything but the use of tabacco, and when the end finally came he passed away without an hour's sickness, complaining of nother, but just feeling tired and weak. "Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep."
