- Virgie Speights writes that "when they were married in 1911, they drove their buggy to Milam where the were married at the home of Judge J. N. Draughn, with Bob Davidson; Lee Davidson; Steel Russell, the bride's brother; and Sid Causey, in the wedding party. After the wedding the group mounted their horses or climbed in buggies and went to the home of the groom's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wilson, for a big wedding supper. Their first home was on Godwin Bend, on the Sabine River, where Mr. Causey was engaged in the timber business with his parents..."
