Notes |
- According to the 1870 census, John H. White could not read or write, and suffered an "impairment." Charlie White notes that on the 1880 census, he is listed as married to a woman named Elizabeth, born circa 1857 in Arkansas. Five year old Lizzie Davis is shown as John's stepdaughter. On the 1900 census, it was also indicated that he could not read or write. He was living in the home of his younger half-brother, Henry Strickland White, Jr. It was also shown that he was divorced.
