- Lee Herbert Corley, 92, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at Hemphill Care Center.
Lee was born November 28, 1927 to Charles C. Corley and Willie Mae Burk Corley and was a lifelong resident of Sabine County. He joined the Merchant Marines when he was 15 years old and when he was old enough, he joined the United States Army. He owned and operated Corley's Service Station in Hemphill for more than 35 years.
Lee was a member of Rosevine Church of God. He was also a member of the Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge #305 in Hemphill, the VFW Post #10351, and the Sabine County Shriners.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Leta Joyce Corley; his grandson, Brandon Corley; and several siblings.
He is survived by his sons, Edward Corley and wife, Susan, James Corley and wife, Stephanie, and David Corley, all of Hemphill; brothers, Larry Corley and wife, Rachel, of Tyler and Robert Corley of Liberty; grandchildren, Cara Westbrook and husband, Andrew, Eric Corley, and Ashley Roberts and husband, Christopher; and great grandson, Alex Freeman.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.
Burial will follow service in Hemphill Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
