- Ruby Yates, age 87, of Jefferson, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 12, 2015, in a Dallas, Texas hospital.
Ruby was born November 21, 1927, in Bronson, Texas, to E. B. and Lela Burkett. She was a homemaker, member of McLeod Tabernacle and loved spending time with family, sewing and reading. She was preceded in death by three brothers, E.L. Burkett, Gearld Burkett and Kenneth Burkett; three sisters, Idell Varnell, Laverne Burkett and Opal Walton.
She is survived by her husband, Wade Yates of Jefferson, Texas; three children, Royce Yates and wife Judy of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brenda Yates of Houston, Texas, Gary Yates, Sr. and wife Darlene of McLeod, Texas; three sisters, Jean Windham of Houston, Texas, Verlene Daniels of Houston, Texas, Maxine Pate of Pineland, Texas; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 15, 2015, at McLeod Tabernacle, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. J.P. Story officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm at McLeod Tabernacle.
Interment will be in Good Exchange Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to McLeod Tabernacle Building Fund, P. O. Box 93, McLeod, Texas 75565.
