- Johan and his wife left Europe and settled in Turkey Creek Township, Saline County, Nebraska, sometime between 1875 and 1878. They purchased land from the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad Company in the N 1/2 NE 1/4 of Section 31. He received the deed to this land on March 1, 1884. The land was transferred to his son, Peter Cudly on August 3, 1901; to Peter's brother John on January 10, 1917; and to John's son, Joseph John Cudly on April 2, 1924. Robert Vnoucek, the great-great-grandson of Johan Cudly owns 40 acres of the original railroad land. (Milligan, p 255).
