- Charlotte Jean King Walker born August 25,1927 in Hemphill, TX to Bronson Carver and Marie Patterson King. Passed from this life Saturday October 11, 2014.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Patty Walker; Daughter and son-in- law, An and Jack Sweeny Granddaughters and husbands; Jennifer and Chris Hill; Sara and Charlie Hill; Great-grand children; Price, Walker, Lucy, Charlotte, Ella, and Preston Hill Sister-in-law Mary Francis Walker Sedwick; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. "Trent" Walker and her sister, Inez King Sparks.
Graveside services were held at 2:00PM, Sunday, October, 12, 2014, in the Hemphill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
"Our family will be forever grateful for the loving care given our Granny at the Lottie Temple Unit of Pinecrest over these last years. Their kindness, compassion and love sustained our entire family through this terrible journey named Alzheimer's."
Memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church, P.O.Box 287, Hemphill, Texas 75948, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Could she have married Ben Smith Jr. and been the mother of Susan Paige Smith Padgett (dec 1947-Feb 2013).
Susan Paige Padgett, 65, died in Lufkin Memorial Hospital, February 9, 2013. She was born to Ben Smith Jr. and Charlotte King, December 12, 1947. Raised in Pineland she had lived in Lufkin for 37 years.
Susan was survived by her husband, Bryan Padgett, of Lufkin; her son, Kevin Woods of Bronson; her daughter, Kim Woods of Lufkin; one brother, Ben Smith of Jasper; one sister Libi Smith of Dallas; and three grandchildren, Aaron Woods, Sydney Woods, and Kelsey Woods.
She was preceded in death by her brother Terry Smith and her sister Cindy Smith.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday evening, February 10, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 11, 2013, at Starr Funeral home Chapel, with gravesides services to follow at St. Augustine Cemetery in San Augustine Texas.
