  Notes	NORTH BEND -- The funeral for Frank E. Conkling, 78, of North Bend will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. He died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Conkling was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up and graduated from high school in Council Bluffs. He served in United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Japan. He married Bernice Tenopir Sept. 29, 1990, in Fremont. He then worked for Union Pacific Railroad and Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. He then moved to Fremont. He worked for Stormor Inc. until that firm closed and then did telemarketing after his retirement. He moved to North Bend in 1990. He was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 in Fremont. Survivors include: his wife; a son, Francis (and wife, JoAnn) Zakovec of Morse Bluff; a daughter, Janice Hamilton and fianc?, Bob Leffers of Schuyler; a brother, Leslie Conkling of Bevard, N.C.; two sisters, Leona Peters of Council Bluffs and Audrey (Mrs. Bob) Williams of Portland, Ore.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and a son-in-law. The Rev. Don Canady will officiate Wednesday's service. Visitation will be 4-9 tonight with family receiving friends 6-8 tonight and 9 a.m. until service time, all in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cedar Bluffs.
