Ben Beard
Ben Beard, 82, of Route 1, Broaddus, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995, at Medical Center Hospital in Nacogdoches.
He was born May 19, 1913, in San Augustine County and had been a lifelong area resident. Beard was a retired carpenter and farmer and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors: wife, Ethel Beard of Broaddus; a daughter, Mildred Chapman of Baytown; four grandchildren, Jo Dismukes and Andrew Chapman, both of Baytown, and Mary Abel and Ben Chapman, both of Broaddus; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vonnie Beard of Houston and Milton Beard of Broaddus; and three sisters, Olga Green of Houston, Marie Green of Nacogdoches, and Octavia Burns of Broaddus.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Chapel in San Augustine with Luther Martin officiating. Interment followed at Broaddus Cemetery.
