- Lee Roy Ebarb, 82, of Bronson, Texas passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his residence.
LeRoy was born in Hemphill, Texas on October 16, 1940 to Rex Ebarb and Viola Woodard Ebarb. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Hemphill and had worked as a logger in the timber industry for many years.
He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and liked to read Louis Lamour western books. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He also loved being outdoors gardening, working on his lawnmowers and his bird watching.
He is survived by his sons, David Ebarb and wife, Janet, of Pineland, Randy Ebarb of Jennings, LA, and Timothy Ebarb and wife, Holly, of Hemphill; daughters, Betty Bealer and husband, Henry, of Jennings, Rebecca O'Blanc and husband, Timmie, of Egan, LA and Tammie Lopez and husband, Richard, of Fairmount; daughter-in-law, Rachel Ebarb of Hemphill; brothers, Carnell Ebarb of San Augustine, Danny Ebarb of Bronson, Paul Ebarb and wife, Helen, of Hemphill and Rex Ebarb, Jr. of Hemphill; sisters, Sue Wiley of Fort Worth and Melinda Shoemaker and husband, Thomas, of Hemphill; 22 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Louis Ebarb; son, Daniel Ebarb; siblings, Helen Byle, T. J. Ebarb, Carl Ebarb and Artie Beck; and great granddaughter, Hayley Eleina Campbell.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rudolph Hennigan, Bro. A. J. Wood and Bro. James Thomisee officiating.
Burial will follow services in Springhill Cemetery with Stephen Ebarb, Kendall O'Blanc, Justin Ebarb, Brandon Ebarb Joey Quick and Derek Lopez serving as pallbearers.
LeRoy's family would like to recognize and thank Affinity Hospice for the love and care shown to him and his family, especially to Lindsey and Tiffany.
