"Rev. J. E. Brunson [Special to the Picayune] Meridian, Miss., Sept. 18 - Rev. J. E. Brunson, of Toomsuba, died at his residence in that village last night, after a lingering illness of typhoid fever. He was one of the most prominent Baptist divines in this section of the state, having been in the ministry for more than one-third of a century, during which period he had zealously served some of the largest churches in Mississippi. He was a most excellent Christian gentleman, and his death at the close of a long and useful career will be deeply regretted in east Mississippi. The funeral services will be conducted to-morrow, and the interment will be in the village cemetery. Mr. Brunson leaves a wife and several children, all grown and well known residents of this county, to mourn his death." A photo of Rev.
