- Mrs. Bennie (Fussell) Poss, age 98, longtime educator and resident of San Augustine County, passed away today, Thursday, September 6, 2012, in San Augustine.
Ms. Bennie was born to Lena (Mason) Fussell and Willaim Hollie Fussell on September 12, 1913, and would have celebrated her 99th Birthday on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, but her faithful and Heavenly Father of whom she depended on very often called her to her eternal home in Heaven. She was a loving Educator, having taught schools in various communities in East Texas, loving her pupils as her own. Also, along with her husband, Bill, they owned and operated the Dairy Mart in San Augustine for many years, a place where the young people grew to love Ms. Bennie and her great hamburgers. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in San Augustine.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in San Augustine with Rev. Jim Moss and Rev. Chet Hensley officiating, Rev. Rick Russell will officiate graveside rites where interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas. Visitation will be Friday evening, September 7, 2012, from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas, 75972
Those who are left to cherish her memory include: Son; Joe Bill and his wife, Sue Poss of San Augustine; Grandchildren; Lisa Poss and David Taylor of Timpson; Alice Poss of San Augustine; Dana Dailey and P.V. of Chireno; and Mike Michael of Houston; Great-Grandchildren; Katie Poss; Jacob Michael; Cory Alsap; Tiffany Dehn; and Joe Dailey; Great-Great Grandchildren; Bella; Maddison; Remington; Hunter; and Hope
She is preceded in death by a grandchild, Lorey Poss, and great-grandchild; Justin Wiggins, along with her parents; Lena (Mason) Fussell and William Hollie Fussell; her beloved husband, William Henry (Bill) Poss along with her brothers; W. H. Fussell; Vernon Fussell; Carl Fussell; and Pat Henry Fussell
Pallbearers will include; P.V. Dailey, Joe Dailey, Cory Alsap, Steve Fussell, Ben Fussell and Mike Michael Honorary Pallbearers will include: Mike Fussell, Dan Fussell, Roger Carl Fussell, Patrick Fussell, Travis Fussell and Duke Lyons.
