- His Texas Death Certificate, viewable online at FamilySearch.org, Texas Deaths, 1890-1976, shows him as a farmer, born in Texas. His parents are listed as Robert. Bean and Mary Jett (sic....this was actually the name of a wife). He was listed as widowed from Mary Jane Bean. The informant was Ben F. Bean.
Newton County Historical Committee, , "Glimpses of Newton County History," p 169, notes that Robert Bean (1878-1971) was the second son of Jordan and Mary Jane Bean, and married Martha Ann Elizabeth Spears in 1896, having five children.
